In 1986, the Hardman Group was retained by the Bank of Nova Scotia to manage its historic head office on Hollis Street in Halifax. The building was designed and built in 1930 by world renowned architect John M. Lyle.

In 1990, the Hardman Group was instrumental in identifying a problem with the building's exterior stonework. Many of the stones were moving and were in danger of coming loose. The Hardman Group was retained as project manager to perform a complete restoration of the building's exterior stone cladding. The work, valued at $3.5 million, involved removing every individual stone, repairing the steel structure, repairing each stone off-site, and then replacing the stones. The project was completed in 1993.
