Brunswick Square
Saint John, N.B.
In 1985,
the Hardman Group was retained as asset manager of Brunswick Square,
a multi use complex in uptown Saint John, New Brunswick owned by The
Bank of Nova Scotia and NBTel. In 1987, the Hardman Group oversaw the
design and installation of an atrium including a glass elevator that
tied together the entire complex both physically and visually. This
phase of the re-development, valued at $4.4 million, also included the
conversion of one of the undeveloped floors into an additional 35,000
square feet of retail space.
By 1991, the Hardman Group recommended that the remaining undeveloped
floor be converted to 35,000 square feet of office area. This level
now houses such tenants as Northern Telecom and MITV.
For its innovation in achieving excellence in the shopping industry,
Brunswick Square won the 1996 Canadian Maple Leaf Award for its marketing
program. In delivering this award, the judges made particular reference
to the teamwork demonstrated by the Centre in the achievement of its
goals.
